A mature Bald Eagle

When photographing eagles don't try and sneak up on them. They're too sharp and it stresses them which you don't want to do. It is best to approach them slowly in the open. And in a marine environment it's even better to observe them from a boat. They seem to know humans in a boat pose little threat. I took this photograph from my skiff after watching it for about ten minutes. This was taken in the San Juan Islands of Washington State.
